World Meteorological Congress (WMO Cg-17)

The 17th session of the World Meteorological Congress (CG-17) will be held from 25 May to 12 June 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The World Meteorological Congress represents the supreme governing body of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). It takes place every four years and gathers all Members States to determine general policies, establish regulations, approve long-term plans and budget, elect the President, Vice-Presidents and members of the Executive Council and appoint the Secretary-General.

PEARL and RISC-KIT side event at CG-17

During the side event “Reducing risk and increasing resilience in coastal areas:PEARL and RISC-KIT projects”, PEARL and RISC-KIT will be presented by Arlex Sanchez Torres, member of the PEARL Management Group, and Ap van Dongeren, RISC-KIT Project Coordinator. They will highlight commonalities and differences between the two projects, explaining how the same holistic multidisciplinary approach can be applied through diverse research methodologies in the pursuit of a shared overall goal: reducing risk and increasing resilience to low-frequency extreme meteorological events in coastal areas.
